Grounded-Segment-Anything is a project aimed at combining two powerful models, Grounding DINO and Segment Anything, to create a demo that can detect and segment anything with text inputs. Segment Anything is a strong segmentation model that generates masks but requires prompts like boxes or points. Grounding DINO is a strong zero-shot detector that generates high-quality boxes and labels with free-form text. By combining the two models, Grounded-Segment-Anything can detect and segment everything with text inputs, and it can be applied in various fields such as image labeling, data factory, and automatic image generation. The project’s commercial applications include an automatic labeling system using BLIP to generate captions, extract tags, and Grounded-SAM for box and mask generating. Future work includes collaboration with (Chat-)GPT, stronger foundation models with segmentation pre-training, and a whole pipeline for automatically labeling images and generating new images. The project requires python>=3.8, as well as PyTorch>=1.7 and TorchVision>=0.8, and the installation instructions are provided on the project’s GitHub page.
